We are working on an import system that will enable you to import your data from an existing blog/forum hosted elsewhere. Support will initially be made available for Wordpress and PHPBB. We also hope to support importing from other blogging and forum services/software.

However, we really need your feedback here. What other blogging/forum services and sofware are you currently using? And which would you like to be able to import your data from?

Remember, if you don't tell us here, we won't know you need it and it may therefore not be implemented. This applies to any feature that you would like to see in Switchboard.

I don't want to important data from my host - I want to import Switchboard to MY host.

You mean you want to host Switchboard yourself? Sorry, but that is not possible and we have no plans to allow that. Switchboard is a hosted service and will remain so for the forseeable future.

I presume that you are talking about fully hosting the Switchboard system yourself, or do you maen something like Blogger allows you to do?

Hi Joel,

This service is an amazing idea, and I believe there is much demand for a solution like this - and as far as I know, yours is the only one.

I've been waiting a while now for you to allow Blogger importing like you promised. I can't set this up with my site because it's Blogger-based. But even if you don't allow support for Blogger, if you allow importing from an RSS-feed, that would be good enough.
